New Gender and STI Assessment: Argentina

WISAT and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) are happy to announce that the National Assessment on Gender and STI for Argentina is now available. It is produced by Gloria Bonder – WISAT Board Member and Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair on Women in S&T in Latin America (FLACSO, Argentina).

A GenderInSITE-OWSD-WISAT Panel on “Gender Equality in the Knowledge Society: Better Analysis Through Better Information” was held at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) on February 15. With funding from The Elsevier Foundation and Sida, the panel presented the results of the National Assessments on Gender and STI for Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and the USA.

Gloria Bonder Interview on Nature Blogs

Dr. Gloria Bonder, member of the WISAT Board of Directors, was interviewed by Nature blogs about her work in women, science and gender equality in Latin America. She talks about recent data on women in science, and what is needed in policy and education, including more qualitative research on women who are successfully developing careers in engineering, technology and science.
