New Assessments in East Africa

Four new National Assessments on Gender and STI have been initiated in East Africa, in collaboration with OWSD and with funding from Sida.  The four countries in the study are Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, with the reviews being undertaken by eminent researchers from each country:

  • Ethiopia:  Dr. Hellina Beyene, President’s Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of History, University of California-Irvine
  • Kenya: Natasha Frosina, Africa Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS)
  • Rwanda: Prof. Verdiana Masanja, Director of Research and Postgraduate Studies and Full Professor of Mathematics, University of Rwanda
  • Uganda: Irene Murungi, WOUGNET

The completed Assessments will be published in early 2016.
